my new adventures

Well, it's finally happened! I'm too emotional right now. God has truly blessed me and I'm ridiculously happy. To all my family, friends and amazing team at Blue. THANK YOU for all your support and prayers. On the 1st February I get the keys to my very own studio. EEK!! honestly, it has been the toughest 2016 battling my brain, heart and anxiety, but with the love of my friends and family I have finally grabbed my dream and will be opening my own wee haven. Thank you to every single person I have ever had the pleasure of meeting in my chair. I love you all to the moon and back.

My new studio will be situated in Portview Mill, East Belfast at A1:14. I am too excited. It will probably be mid to end of March by the time I get to open but I will keep you all posted.

Thank you to everyones support. It had been totally humbling and overwhelming.

#pure stunning

This post is basically all about the love I have for 3 people, well, 2 humans and 1 little furry one.

When I first met TenTwentyOne photography I instantly fell in love with their energy and lust for life. I'm a true believer in fate and God putting people in your life. Shelley and Ricky have always made me feel so welcome. Not forgetting our wee Penny too, she really is such a calming little furry human and I love her face! After working with them on weddings and editorial shoots we have become chums and I am thankful everyday for their friendship. When Shelley asked me to create her bridal hair I was blown away. It was such an honour.

I've always wanted to open up on my own and have a bespoke salon. With their help and support I have made my dreams come true and will be opening up my own bespoke salon in Portview Mill.

Shelley took this wee photo of me filling in my application form and it's a constant reminder of the day I let go of all my anxiety and reached for my dreams.

From the bottom of my heart guys, I will always be grateful to you. I am too excited for our journey ahead and all our coffee catch ups. Neighbours at last :)

be individual - bespoke it up

The choice of jewellers out there is mind blowing. So many companies to choose from and so many options. But ask yourself this, why choose a ring that anyone can just walk in off the street after you and buy the same one?! Through my love of all things wedding and basically surrounding myself by lovely people, I had the honour of meeting the wonderfully talented Mairi. Mairi is a contemporary goldsmith and bespoke jewellery designer. She has a beautiful studio at Portview Mill in East Belfast and lovingly hand makes all her pieces. My eternity ring was made by Mairi and I can truly say it is my favourite ring I own. My ring was made with heirloom stones and includes 25 stones that symbolise our special dates. We also have N&L (Neal and Lynette) engraved on  the inside. It means so much to me. I LOVE IT! I can't recommend Mairi even, not only is she a great girl and lovely to be around, but she is one hell of a goldsmith. Please think about visiting her first before you go and buy off the rack rings.

Check out Mairi's instagram and website below.

Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Sometimes you meet cool people. Sometimes you meet your work idols. It probably sounds super geeky, but I don't care. hehe. I love my job and take it very seriously. Hair for me is my everything and I love people who love their job as much as I do. I'd been following Fraser's work for ages and always wanted to get to create hair for one of his brides. Fraser is one of those people. Like me, he has a family and loves them very much. We clicked from the first meeting. I've been lucky to work with Fraser on four weddings now. I'm going to share links to some of these on this wee blog post. I think you'll agree how fabulous his work is. Enjoy. xo

Utterly Engaged

My first international editorial published in a wedding magazine was Utterly Engaged. An American wedding blog. It was their first ever published magazine, Everything up to that point had been all online publishing. I was honoured to be part of this shoot. It was a collaboration with the crazy talented and equally lovely photographer Paula O'hara and wedding planner and stylist Alise Taggart. Floral Earth created the flowers and I got to work alongside my friend and extremely talented makeup artist Jennifer Ireland. Michael from Story of Eve shot the whole day on film and it was stunning!

Models Ruta Mineikyte and Piaras Smyth rocked as always :)

We had a blast creating this shoot. When you see the behind the scenes film at end of this post you'll see my wee pregnant belly, that is now my beautiful daughter Florence.
